Great Smoky Mountains Spring Clean 2024
After registration, teams will be assigned to areas all around GSMNP. After the cleanup, we will meet at Twin Creeks Picnic Pavilion from 2-5pm for food, drink and live music. The celebrations are separate events, so ensure you also register for that to allow us an accurate head count for food.

About the event
To celebrate Earth Day, Save Our Smokies will partner with many other organizations to do a park wide clean up. Our goal is to remove at least 4,000 pounds of litter as possible for the day.
Volunteers will need each individual to register and select the exact same check in location. Otherwise, you will be expected at your selected location. We worked to try to accomodate changing last year, but we will not be able do so this year. Once registration closes, we will organize teams by selected areas of the Park. We will communicate out to teams the leaders names and meeting locations for their sites. We plan to have 4 check in/out locations. The Tennessee locations will be at Townsend Heritage Center, Foothills West Overlook #1 (Walland), Sugarlands Visitor Center and Cosby Picnic Area 1. The North Carolina locations will be at Oconaluftee Visitor Center and Deep Creek Picnic Pavillion.
The event schedule is as follows:
Check In at locations: 8am until 9am.
Working assigned areas: 9am until 1pm
Post event celebration at Twin Creeks Picnic Pavilion (Cherokee Orchard Rd): 2pm until 5pm *** Separate Registration required on website to get an accurate head count.
We will welcome a speaker from GSMNP, live music, food and drinks. Food will not be served until after the speaker(s), to ensure everyone hears the speakers.
